●ジョン・エントウィッスルが未発表曲をかき集めて作ったアルバムで、古くは'64年のハイ・ナンバーズのデビュー曲9「I'm the Face」から、幻のアルバム「LIFEHOUSE」収録予定だった曲(「PURE AND EASY」)や'72年までの曲を収録。中でも'68年録音の「LITTLE BILLY」「GLOW GIRL」がオススメ。　このアルバムは1998年に"Remix/Remaster"盤が発売されていますが、ミックスが変えられている他(ピッチが遅くなっている曲がいくつかあるのが気になる)、12曲が追加、曲順も替えられ別物のアルバムとなっているので、ご購入の際はご注意ください。

●オリジナル・アルバム未収録のシングル・ナンバーをまとめたイギリス編集盤。アナログ盤は2枚バラ売りでしたが、1991年にイギリスでCD化された際に、2 in 1仕様で1枚に収録されています(掲載したジャケットはCD用。このデザインはStatus QuoやThe Jam等でも使用されていました)。1「Circles」はEP『Ready Steady Who』('66年)収録テイク。11「Someone's Coming」と12「Mary Anne With The Shaky Hand」はアナログ盤起こしで音質に難あり。15「Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde」はアルバム『Magic Bus』とはヴァージョン違い。(2004年3月9日更新)

●The Whoの結成30周年を記念してリリースされた4枚組BOX。レア音源満載でファンはマスト・アイテム。収録曲のいくつかは"Remix"とクレジットされており、初ステレオ化の曲も含まれていますが、Disc 1のいくつかの曲はモノラルのままだったりします。また、「I'm A Boy」は新しいミックスになっていますが、イントロのコーラスやドラムのオーヴァー・ダビングが欠落しているのが難点。「A Quick One, While He's Away」はモノラルのスタジオ・テイクと、1968年の"ロックン・ロール・サーカス"でのライヴ・テイクを繋ぎ合わせたもの。 　ちなみに日本盤初版のブックレットは英文訳は付いておらず、数年後に再発されたものには英文訳が付いている(らしい)ので購入の際には要注意です。
