●60年代の音源しか聴いたことがないという方に特にお薦めしたい1980年発表のライヴ・アルバム(アナログ盤は2枚組)。'70年のシングル「ローラ｣以降、久しくヒットがなかったキンクスですが、'76年にアリスタ・レーベルと契約した頃からアメリカでの人気が再燃し、イギリスでもパンク/ニュー・ウェイヴ系のバンドが彼等の曲をカヴァー・ヒットさせ、バンドは再び息を吹き返しました。 この作品は'79年〜'80年にかけて行われたツアーから収録されたライヴ・アルバムで、当時のパンク/ニュー・ウェイヴ・バンドに対抗するかのような勢いのある演奏を聴く事が出来ます。2「ハードに生きろ」11「プリンス・オヴ・ザ・パンクス」(パンク・ロッカーを茶化した歌詞が面白い)14「アティテュード」等のロックン・ロール・ナンバーや6「ローラ」9「20世紀の人」18「セルロイドの英雄」8「オール・オヴ・ザ・ナイト」19「ユー・リアリー・ガット・ミー」といった代表曲も最高の演奏で聴く事が出来ます。同名タイトルのDVDも発売中。 ※CDについて 80年代〜90年代前半までに発売されていたCDでは9「20th Century Man」が"収録時間の都合上"によりカットされているので要注意。1999年発売のリマスター盤には収録されています。 また、輸入盤のリマスターCDはパソコンでライヴ映像が見れるエンハンスドCD仕様ですが、日本盤には未収録。(2004年2月4日更新)
